What we collect, why, who sees it, and how to get a copy or have it corrected.
Hard Hardware Pty Ltd (ABN 59 696 358 764) supplies hardware to trade and retail customers across Australia. This policy covers personal information we collect through hardhardware.com.au, by email and phone, and in supplying goods. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles.

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and loads no third-party trackers, pixels or ads. It runs entirely from our own server. If we add analytics, we will update this page first.
We don't collect sensitive information — health, race, politics, religion, sexual orientation, criminal record or biometrics. Please don't send it.
Without the information we ask for, we may not be able to quote, open an account or deliver.
The newsletter goes only to addresses entered on this site or given to us for that purpose. Every email carries a working unsubscribe link, as the Spam Act 2003 requires. You can also reply unsubscribe or email admin@hardhardware.com.au. We action it within five business days.
We do not sell, rent or share mailing lists.
Our hosting and email are provided by an international host, so data may be stored or backed up outside Australia. We send technical specifications to our overseas manufacturing partner, but not customer contact details. We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle the information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Records sit on our hosting account and business email, behind access controls and served only over HTTPS. Access is limited to staff who need it. Paper records are kept at Park Ridge.
No system is completely secure. If a breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Enquiry and transaction records: seven years, as tax and corporations law require. Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep only a suppression record so we don't email you again by mistake. Anything else is destroyed or de-identified once we no longer need it.
Email admin@hardhardware.com.au to ask what we hold, get a copy, or have something corrected. We respond within 30 days. There is no charge; if a request is unusually large we may charge the cost of retrieval and will tell you first. If we refuse, we will explain why in writing.
